About Complete Trivia
CEO of Complete Trivia, Ian Francis has been creating entertaining
trivia quizzes since 1988. An original partner of FAME trivia, he broke away and formed his own company, Complete Trivia, in 1994. From only a few loyal venues in Sydney and fellow musicians to host the quiz nights, he has grown the company so that it is currently running approximately seventy Complete Trivia
Shows throughout different parts of Australia
The Complete Trivia Company has been
operating host and trivia services in pubs and clubs in Australia since
1994 but they also frequently run Corporate Complete
Trivia events or provide services to private functions and fund raising events. In the 13 years since Complete Trivia started operating, many other
quiz companies have come and gone. Complete Trivia has succeeded where
the others have failed because of an enormous commitment to creating both
entertaining and challenging trivia.
In 2003 Ian Francis and Ric Allport, who are are both versatile
entertainers and musicians got hooked on a brilliant idea and
collaborated to create Complete
Interactive Trivia.
This online trivia game was a completely new concept, in stark contrast to most trivia competitions. The first monthly quiz
was launched on the 1st January 2004. Available online 24/7 with a completely new quiz of 700 questions for
each new calendar month, it uses the internet to allow its clients to
login and take up their quiz where they left off. Allowing people to use research,
communication and internet searching to answer the questions it is a
challenging and addictive quiz format that has proved extremely popular.
Ric
Allport and his wife Suzie created the web architecture and handle most
of the picture clues and Ric is branching out into adding in a mix of
traditional elements such as crossword and sudoku. Complete Trivia send
out a 4 page monthly newsletter with these and tidbits of trivia and
famous faces picture clues. You can add yourself to the mailing list by
sending a blank email to supertriviaguy@hotmail.com.
Ian continues to create trivia questions for both types of
quizzes, that make some quiz contestants swear that his father never
married his mother. He believes the 'single question - single answer'
format of general knowledge questions is only a start. Many of his
questions ask for a list of answers. He twists his questions so that he
manages to ask the one thing you don't know about a subject. He asks
for impossible things like completing a sequence of numbers while
having no idea as to what it may be referring to and yet his clients
always manage to come through with an answer. However difficult he
makes things, there is always someone who can work it out.
Being
a singer songwriter must help for he's also written some excellent
rhyming riddles. He greatly enjoys the addition of sound bites of all kinds of music
to Complete Trivia quizzes. Trivia is entertainment, he says, it should
be fun!
With this kind of work load you'd imagine that Complete
Trivia would have an army of question compilers but in fact there is
still only one. Ian has made only a single concession to the growth of his
business. He hired Judy. With so much conflicting information on the
internet it was imperative that the questions, and more importantly the
answers, were as correct as they could be. Thanks to Judy who is an
expert researcher, the accuracy of both his questions and answers is impeccable.
In
September 2007 Complete Trivia realised that it could not keep up with
the demand for host and trivia services in Australia. It simply was not
possible to always be able to find a host who would work in all areas of
Australia. It is a big country. With this in mind Ian started to work
on creating the Instant Trivia Quiz product range.
Many venues,
whether pub or club, have a staff member free on a quieter night that
can perform as a host for a trivia quiz event. It is difficult and time
consuming to create an accurate, current and entertaining trivia quiz
every single week and do the necessary research to ensure there are as few
disputes as possible. What if a trivia quiz like this were available to purchase every week
though. A trivia quiz with new questions weekly, always up to date and with a range of add
on variety quizzes to keep it fun.
He also saw a need for people to be able to buy fund raiser quizzes or a trivia quiz fo special functions such as birthday parties or bridal showers. A digital product that you can download from the internet and send to your printer.
Well you are here and so is Instant Trivia, Ian's new division of Complete Trivia. Always fun, accurate and regularly available trivia quizzes designed
to have you reaching for a memory and scratching your head until it
is found. What will they think of next? Nothing trivial, that's for sure - that's one thing you can't call Complete Trivia.
